Cumbria Action for Sustainability 

Cumbria’s climate change and sustainability organisation that works to enable individuals, communities, businesses and local authorities to reduce the county’s carbon footprint. Our aim is to identify hosts for electric vehicle charge points and promote the share offer that will fund them. The CAfS vision is to achieve a zero carbon Cumbria and a sustainable way of life in balance with our environment.

Grønn Kontakt is owned by Statkraft AS, a Norwegian state-owned company and Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy, and aims to become a European leader in sustainable EV charging. They are active in Norway (2009), Germany (2012), Sweden (2019) and have now brought their expertise to the UK & Ireland to create an easier EV charging experience.

Mer is a European EV charging company owned by Statkraft. Statkraft is a Norwegian state-owned utility company, committed to playing a leading role in the development of renewable energy. MER worked with Durham County Council to install and operate their chargepoints.

Charge My Street is a community benefit society that installs and operates community public electric vehicle chargepoints, raising money through community shares.

Cybermoor Services Ltd has overseen the management of the project, using their excellent track record of delivering projects in rural areas.

EO Charging (EO) supply chargepoint equipment and software and have been involved in previous trials with Charge my Street.

BAY Camera and Communication install domestic, commercial, and public chargepoints across the UK. They have installed all Charge My Streets network throughout the SOSCI project.

Durham County Council has engaged with stakeholders to understand where would benefit from electric vehicle chargepoints in County Durham. Working with MER they have been able to expand their EV infrastructure in County Durham.

Derwent Valley Car Club has formed a car club in Blackhall Mill in Gateshead allowing locals to hire an electric car, they have worked with lots of stakeholders throughout the project to develop new car clubs across the UK.
